From my work window I can see a soccer field just through the trees and today when I got to work, all I could see was bright yellow, and entire field of dandelions. All day I wanted to go skip through the field. But when I finally made it to the field so did our landscape crew with five lawn mowers...so I only had a short time to enjoy the beautiful dandelions.
It reminded me of my boss, who is frequently disappointed in our lack of knowledge about history. She often assigns us to do history reports about random topics. This last week was Woodstock. My knowledge of Woodstock was very limited, I knew it was a big musical festival but I didn't realize it only happened one time. I actually followed her challenge and read the wikipedia page about Woodstock, then reported back to her. Also for extra credit while I was out in the field I made a crown of dandelions and took it to her...she loved it.

Memorial Day Weekend
Bell's Nursery has the most incredible hanging baskets! Can you see how big this is compared to the guy standing behind it!
This weekend was so beautiful! It was the best weather I ever remember having in Anchorage.... or I have finally acclimated. It was 70 degrees and sunny! This weekend was really busy and a lot of fun. Saturday I went to Bell's Nursery and got a bunch of flowers, then ran around doing a bunch of errands. I had to buy some fat clothes, particularly a skirt...I got one with an elastic waist so it can grow with me.Sunday's are so hard for me, probably because my routine is off. Half the day I was extremely tired and nauseous then I got a second wind and was able to finally clean my house. I finally went through all our mail...piles and piles of it! I am really ready to go completely paperless, I hate mail. I vacuumed out all of the crumbs from my couch, and found our kitchen table again! I even made cookies.
Memorial Day, I slept in, ate cookies and planted flowers. I spent most of the day outside, and it was awesome!

I Miss Him Already!
I miss my crazy husband already!
Jed left this morning to go to Fairbanks. Since we started dating I knew that Jed's job took him away for the summers. The first year was really hard because I didn't know anyone or anything about Alaska. The second year was awesome, because he took me with him...that's when I got to experience the duplex outhouse. And now this year, I'm left here pregnant. That's okay though...I really don't think I could make the 6 hour drive right now. But I am feeling a little lost tonight and I miss him! Hopefully, this week goes by quickly!

1st Doctor Appointment
DUE DECEMBER 24, 2011
Today was our first doctor's appointment. I was so nervous because I didn't know what to expect. Jed came with me so that helped calm me down. We got to have an ultrasound and see the little baby's heart beat. We also found out that I am only 8 weeks and 3 days, so that pushes our due date back to December 24th...so this is definitely going to be a Christmas baby. I was kind of disappointed that I wasn't too far along...I really wanted to get through the first trimester. That means my morning sickness started at 5 weeks, that doesn't seem fair. I hate hearing from people that they never got sick while they were pregnant, it just reiterates how unfair life can be!I also had to do the glucose screening for diabetes because we have a family history of diabetes...that was really hard to drink all of that really sugary drink and keep it down for an hour. I haven't heard the results yet but I think everything should be okay.

It Continues...But
It continues, the morning sickness the nausea and vomiting....it keeps going strong. I may have a day or an afternoon when I feel pretty good, then it returns with a vengeance. To add to it I have had the worse seasonal allergies, so I am congested, sneezing and coughing until I puke...it is awesome!
Yet, I have still managed to have a little fun this week, it's been a kick start to summer. Not only have I been catching up on all previous seasons of 30 Rock, I also went to a couple BBQ's this week. One with the young women's group which was awesome until someone sitting next to me decided to experiment by putting avocados on their hot dog...just the thought and sight made me so sick and I had to leave. Friday, my boss was having a BBQ to celebrate her in-laws 50th wedding anniversary and she invited us. None of us had ever met her in-laws but who turns down the opportunity for a barbecue? My boss lives an hour and a half away in Big Lake, literally out in the middle of nowhere...and she commutes everyday for work. I thought she was pretty crazy but her place is amazing and it's very secluded and quiet. I made my mom's famous Frog Eye Salad, it was a big hit no one had ever seen anything like it. Also another favorite moment at the BBQ was when I was having a conversation with one of my co-workers friends and in the conversation I just said that I had never tried alcohol before. He was so completely stunned, he was completely confused. I explained that I was a Mormon and he was still shocked. I have never had anyone react like that, and it gave us all a good laugh.
Today was the start of the Saturday's Market. It was a beautiful windy day...Heath (my brother that is living with us) finally decided that he wanted to hang out with us, since yesterday he got paid. So we enjoyed walking around, I had a corn on the cob and Heath got a funnel cake it was a great intro to summer. Jed at Saturday Market, trying on a hat made out of dog hair, and sucking on a cinnamon honey stick
And we just got back from the movie Thor...which was pretty lame, for the exception that Thor was really hot. Also, as a side note it is not a good idea to drink a Cherry red slurpee and watch an action movie when you are already feeling nauseous.

Announcing...
BABY JONES
DUE DECEMBER 17, 2011
So a couple weeks ago Jed and I found out that I was pregnant. It came as kind of a surprise, and ended up changing many (more like all) of our plans. Since I found out I have been so sick, just awfully, horribly, twenty-four hour a day nausea and puking. I am estimating that I am only 8 weeks along, but we will know more at my first appointment on the 17th. So I will keep you updated on how this thing turns out!
